“Let the future unfold. Turn the lights on and end this spell. I want to know if I’m closer to heaven or hell!”

The first version of this track appeared on Almas Buenas which was recorded in Argentina. I couldn’t resist the opportunity to play it with a bunch of folklore and tango musicians while I had them in the studio but the original plan was to do it as a duet with a string quartet and give it a big band style treatment.

So…years passed and lockdown came and went. I scored the quartet and then searched for musicians to play it. Somehow I found them - in Kiev, Ukraine - in the first months of the war - regularly being bombed. My head bent and heart broke. Music was still happening. What spirit. This started to shape where I would take the track and the new meaning ‘Let the Credits Roll’ started to have for me. Upright bass joined flamenco and orchestral percussion. Finally I found the wonderful Zawadi to duet.
